How long does flooring installation take?

Most flooring jobs run 2–7 days. Luxury vinyl plank and laminate go fastest (1,500 sqft typically 1–3 days for a 2-person crew). Solid hardwood and engineered hardwood take 3–5 days because of subfloor moisture-checks, acclimation (3–7 days BEFORE install), and finish-coat dry times. Tile is the slowest at 4–8 days — set, grout, then 24-hour cure between each phase. Carpet is the fastest at 1–2 days for whole-house. Add 1–2 days for subfloor repair if existing floor was glued-down vinyl or had water damage.
