How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Mid-tier kitchen remodels take 6–10 weeks of active work in 2026; full luxury remodels with structural changes run 12–24 weeks. The single biggest schedule risk is cabinet lead time — custom cabinets are 8–14 weeks from order to delivery, so a project that 'should take 8 weeks' really takes 16–22 weeks from sign to completion. Stock cabinets are 2–4 weeks. Appliances are 4–12 weeks depending on brand. Plan to be without a usable kitchen for 4–6 weeks even on a fast project; set up a temporary kitchen in another room with a microwave, kettle, and toaster oven from week 2 onward.
