Solid-core interior doors: 30+ years. Hollow-core interior doors: 12–20 years before hollow damage shows. Steel entry doors: 30–40 years on the slab, 8–12 years on the visible finish (needs repaint). Fiberglass entry doors: 40–50 years with no refinishing required. Wood entry doors: 25–40 years with maintenance (refinish every 5–8 years). Sliding patio doors: 25–30 years on the frame, 8–12 years on the seal (foggy glass = seal failure). French doors: same lifecycle as the entry door material. Garage doors: 25–30 years on steel panels; openers are the limiter at 12–15 years.
