• Xcel does NOT rebate radiant barriers directly — but they DO rebate cool-roof coatings on south + west exposures.
• Combined with R-60 attic insulation: Cuts summer cooling load 18-32% on a typical CO home.

Common CO contractor patterns to watch

• "R-30 is enough": Outdated. 2026 CO Energy Code mandates R-49 minimum in zones 5-7; R-60+ recommended for actual performance at altitude.
• "Spray foam handles air sealing": Partially true. Spray foam at the attic deck is excellent at air sealing, but if you're insulating the attic FLOOR, air sealing has to come from caulking + foam-sealing penetrations BEFORE the blown-in cellulose goes down.
